About Robert Neathery Skate Park

Robert Neathery Skate Park, commonly known as West Plains Skatepark, is a locally built concrete facility in West Plains, Missouri, at 349 E 1st St. It is regarded as one of the stronger free public parks in southern Missouri, with a layout that blends street obstacles with a transition-heavy, community-built feel. The park centers on a large oval bowl with steel coping—about five feet in the shallow end and nine feet in the deep end—with substantial flat bottom. Two prominent pyramids and multiple banks support flowing and fly-out lines. Quarter pipes from roughly three to six feet, also with steel coping, include a roll-in for carrying speed. The street area offers stairs with handrails, round and flat rails, several ledges, and open flat ground. The surface is poured concrete (local work, so texture can vary). Lights allow evening sessions; admission is free. The city does not mandate helmets or pads. A pavilion and restrooms are nearby; there is no longer a skateshop directly across the street, so visitors should plan gear accordingly.
