About Waukegan Skatepark

Waukegan Skatepark at Bevier Park is one of the larger concrete facilities in far northern Illinois, known for an all-terrain layout that combines heavy transition riding with classic street obstacles. The park is located at 2255 W Yorkhouse Rd, Waukegan, IL 60087, in the northeast section of Bevier Park near the Yorkhouse Road entrance. Designed and built by Thompson Dyke & Associates, the park uses an open-flow concept rather than a fully closed bowl. Riders can maintain speed through broad transition walls, linked banks, and street features laid out across multiple lanes. Transition terrain includes large radius quarter pipes (roughly 4-6 ft), curved bank-to-quarter style walls (including taco-style carving lines), and extension sections that support higher-level lip tricks and airs. Street terrain includes a central A-frame with rail and hubba options, stair sets, flat and kinked rails, and long multi-level manual pads integrated into the flow lines. The surface is cast-in-place concrete with steel coping details and is paired with evening sports lighting. Being near the Bevier Park fieldhouse also supports seasonal access to restrooms/water and spectator-oriented park use with bench/seating areas.
