About Evanston Skatepark

Evanston Skatepark, also known as Twiggs Park Skatepark, is a 10,000-square-foot custom concrete facility in Evanston along the North Shore Channel. The project opened to the public in late 2023 with a grand opening celebration in August 2024, establishing a modern permanent hub for skateboarding, BMX, and scooters. Designed by Spohn Ranch and Teska Associates with input from local riders, the layout emphasizes flow and creativity while supporting both beginner progression and advanced lines. Terrain includes a multi-depth flow bowl with hips and transition options, plus a street-focused mix of quarter pipes, ledges, rails, banks, stairs, handrails, and hubba-style features. The park includes LED lighting for evening sessions and supporting amenities such as a shelter, benches, picnic tables, bike racks, drinking fountains, and nearby public restrooms. The site design also integrates rain gardens and native plantings for stormwater management near the canal.
